The Houston County Information Technology Department is responsible for computer and software support to departments throughout the county. Other responsibilities of the IT department include application development and integration of those applications into the working environment as changes or demands occur. The IT department works in conjunction with other state and local agencies. The Houston County IT
Department manages multi PC operating environments including Windows 9x,
Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. We are running two Windows
based servers designated for our Internet/web hosting and GIS based
applications. In addition to the PC based systems, we are running
one IBM iSeries 820, used for boat license, business license, tags,
titles, property tax, appraisal, personal property, solid waste, pistol
permits, warrants, civil papers and our imaging system.
