Laws regarding marriages are subject to change without notice.  To assure that you meet all requirements,

  Marriage ceremonies
  Must call Marriage License Department at 334-677-4721 or 334- 677-4719 for additional information and availability
     regarding marriage ceremony. 
  If 18 or older need Driver's License or Birth Certificate
  If divorced within the last 6 months of wedding date, here in Alabama, need copy of divorce decree
  NO blood test are required
  Fees (CASH, VISA or MASTERCARD)
    Extra $2.00 Fee if VISA OR MASTERCARD is used
    $45.00 for Marriage License ONLY
    $66.00 for Marriage License, Ceremony and 1 Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate
                                                                    1 Certified Copy of Marriage License for Social Security Purposes
  Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  If minor, 16 or 17 years of age:
        Need certified copy of Birth Certificate
        Both parents must be present with identification or if legal guardian must have court order plus identification
        Must have 3rd party to sign on bond
 You must have a Social Security Card.
 

 

Notaries
    Must be Houston County resident
  Normal procedure:
          Pickup Application
          Application is taken to an insurance company to purchase $10,000.00 bond
          Bond is brought to the Recording Department with fee of $24.00
          (Seal can be purchased at an office supply company)
