Boat License

  Every person, age 12 and older, who operates a motorized vessel upon the state waterways must have an operators certification on or before April 28, 1999.  All applicants must present a certification certificate or take a written exam at their local driver examination office.

All persons who are 40 years old or older as of April 28, 1994, are required to be certified but do not have to pass an examination.  They apply and receive an exemption form from the examination requirement at the Alabama State Trooper's Office.  For more information call (334) 677-4722 or (334) 983-5616.

 

 

Business License

  The Probate Judge Office issues a license to operate any business in Houston County. There are too many different types of licenses and prices to list. To obtain information regarding Business License please call

Driver's License

  Driver's License Issue Fee: $23.00 valid for 4 years
  Learner's Permit: $23.00 valid for 4 years. When the person passes the driving exam there is not a charge for the first driver's license if it has been less than 4 years.
  State I.D.: $23.00 for 8 years
  Duplicates: 1st duplicates for  state ID's are $8.00 each additional copy will be $18.00.
All duplicate Drivers License will be $18.00.
 To obtain a duplicate you must have 2 (two) forms of identification (example: birth certificate, school identification or records, Passport, Divorce Decree, Marriage Certificate etc.).

Hunting & Fishing License

  Any Alabama Resident age 16-64 must have a Hunting/Fishing license to fish or hunt on public or private water in the State of Alabama.  All Alabama residents 65 or older are not required to purchase a hunting or fishing as long as they have proper identification to prove their age.  Any one born on or after August 1, 1977 must have a Hunter Education Identification number.  Prices for hunting/fishing license are below.
  Hunting State - All Game $24.00
  Hunting State - Small Game $16.00
  Fishing Freshwater - Annual $12.00
  Fishing Saltwater - Annual $21.00
  Fishing Saltwater - 7 Day Trip $9.00
